Lebanese passport among the worst in the world

2013-10-01 22_41_34-1305188421lebanese passport.jpg (462×308)

We can visit 38 countries and territories without a visa, according to The 2013 Henley & Partners Visa Restrictions Index. This puts us at number 88, along with Kosovo, Sri Lanka and Sudan. The only countries below us are Nepal (37), Eritrea and Palestine (36), Pakistan and Somalia (32), Iraq (31) and Afghanistan (28).

I know what most Lebanese are thinking right now. “We can visit 38 countries without a Visa?!” I asked about a dozen friends how many countries they think we can visit without a visa and most answered between 10 (the pessimists) and 15 (the optimists). Truth is, we’re well aware that our passport isn’t exactly travel-friendly, hence why some of us joke (or half-joke) about marrying foreigners.

The good news is that we’re up by 6 countries compared to 2012, and 11 countries compared to 2009. So hopefully things will get even better soon.

The countries we can currently visit without Visa are the following. Please correct the list if you find any mistake.

Africa

  • Cape Verde
  • Comoros
  • Djibouti
  • Madagascar
  • Mozambique
  • Seychelles
  • Togo
  • Uganda

South America

  • Bolivia
  • Ecuador

Caribbean and West Indies

  • Haiti
  • Dominica
  • Saint Kitts and Nevis
  • Montserrat

  • Georgia
  • Jordan
  • Laos
  • Macau
  • Malaysia
  • Maldives
  • Nepal
  • Oman
  • Syria
  • Timor-Leste
  • Iran
  • Turkey

Oceania

so you can follow me if you want. Cheers!
